IT’S THE 50 DEAD CATS IN FREEZERS THAT MAKES IT A TRUE FLORIDA STORY

The Man and the CatsWhat starts as a straight forward story of a pervert being arrested for possession of child pornography, veers into Florida territory with the discovery of 50 dead frozen cats in four freezers in the suspect’s home.

This is not the kind of the neighbor where you’d say ‘Oh, really?’ I’m not surprised.

It seems Doug Westcott loved cats – whether alive or dead – not only did he have his frozen cats, but also had dozens of live ones roaming his house.

“I never knew he had dead animals in the house, but outside (there were) cats everywhere,” a 16-year-old neighbor told the Palm Beach Post. “Every time you passed his house, you smelled cats.”

I think my favorite part of the story was when another neighbor told the Palm Beach Post, “This is not the kind of the neighbor where you’d say ‘Oh, really?’ I’m not surprised … He would never wear shirts, he used to always have this busy look and then he loves kids. He would come to your house and try to give the kids little things.”

Of course, many of the cats that were still alive were running around in diapers and the litter boxes were overflowing. And did I mention he had previously run a couple of times for the Florida House and managed a Pizza Hut?

A true (un)pure Florida story.

H/T to Matt and Julie for the story.
