TODAY’S LESSON PLAN: READING, WRITING, SHOPLIFTING

Teachers are responsible for molding the minds and morals of our children. They work long hours, and, I think most agree, should be paid more. Some teachers have to work two jobs just to make ends meet. But one Florida teacher found a new way to help support her family. She used her daughter to help shoplift.

I don’t think it’s a good example at all for the children.

Pasco County middle school science teacher Amanda Jo Hammon was arrested for allegedly using her 3-year old daughter as an accessory in Hammon’s crime spree at the local Wal-Mart. According to the the Pasco County Sheriff’s office, on multiple occasions Hammon and her boyfriend shoplifted items using her daughter’s pink backpack.

On hearing the news, one of the parents at Hammon’s school told WFTS, “I don’t think it’s a good example at all for the children.” Um, yes.

What drove the Florida teacher to it? Drugs.

So hold you kids tight, tell them that you love them, and that you’ll never use them when you shoplift from Wal-Mart.
