PACK OF DOGS TO PROTECT KIDS FROM A PASSEL OF WILD HOGS THIS HALLOWEEN

Brevard County, Florida, has been having a problem with a passel of feral hogs that have been running rampant through  county neighborhoods. The hogs have been destroying yards and using sidewalks as their personal bathrooms.

County officials are scared of what these wild hogs will do on Halloween when confronted with thousands of kids roaming neighborhoods and asking for treats. Sweet treats that the hogs would love to have.

But the county thinks it has the answer.

Dogs!

The county has hired professional licensed tracker James Dean (yes, that’s his real name) to capture the hogs. And for the hogs who refuse to be captured, he’ll use a pack of dogs to run them back into the woods.

Like kids, and most of us, the hogs love the sweet life. Dean tells ABC News that he uses a mixture of “corn, swamp water, sugar and powdered yeast to lure the hogs into cages.” No wonder the kids should be a little scared, that’s basically what they will be carrying around all night on All Hallows’ Eve.

Let’s be clear, feral hogs can be a pain and quite dangerous. So we wish Dean, his dogs, and everyone in Brevard County a safe and successful Halloween.
